With so much to see and do at Walt Disney World theme parks, it is always handy to grab a quick bite to eat between rides. Instead of sitting in a restaurant, waiting for service, the Quick Service Restaurants are the perfect time-saving option for those feeling pangs of hunger. The latest news is that Disney World appears to be planning to reopen the Quick Service Restaurants in time for the summer crowds.
Quick Service Restaurants Reopening
Even though Walt Disney World theme parks reopened in mid-July last year, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, certain handy options were unavailable to guests. However, it looks like this could soon change.
A couple of weeks ago, various positions for cooks and servers were advertised for various locations around Epcot’s World Showcase and were offering $1,000 bonuses. As the various pandemic protocols ease up in Florida, Disney World and its vendors are busy trying to fill positions in the food industry. Even better, news is out that Disney is working hard to bring back enough cast members to staff the newest reopening of the popular Quick Service Restaurants. These were closed over the course of the pandemic, due to low capacities.
During the past and coming weeks, the capacity is being increased at Walt Disney World, possibly to as much as 70 percent. This will obviously affect the reopening of restaurants in the park. With the ending of the additional benefits for out-of-work people in Florida, the $14 per hour starting pay for Quick Service cast members could be tempting.
For anyone keen on taking up a Quick Service position, Disney has provided a link on their website for potential hires for full-time food and beverage positions.
What restaurants will reopen for summer?
As the Walt Disney World restaurants prepare to reopen this summer, the following are currently on the list, although this could be updated later.
- Magic Kingdom – Casey’s Corner, Columbia Harbour House
- Epcot – Tangierene Cafe – however, this restaurant is currently undergoing refurbishment and may only open in the fall or later.
- Hollywood Studios – Catalina Eddie’s
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Pizzafari
The news of the Quick Service restaurants comes in the wake of Disney announcing the reopening of its former buffet options, now known as family style dining. Chef Mickey’s, Tusker House and Cape May Café are coming back soon. Walt Disney World is sure to make official announcements about other restaurants, including Columbia Harbour House.
Currently, the following options are available at the four theme parks for those craving a meal:
- Magic Kingdom – Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café
- Epcot – Regal Eagle Smokehouse
- Hollywood Studios – Backlot Express
- Animal Kingdom – Flametree Barbecue or Satu’li Canteen
Get ready for a great summer at Walt Disney World, including the reintroduction of many attractions and options that haven’t been available during the pandemic.
