There is much excitement afoot as Walt Disney World Resort celebrates its 50th anniversary with its guests. Golden characters are popping up all over the park, along with all kinds of other celebratory décor throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Naturally, it is only fitting that the main attraction in the park also gets an upgrade. The iconic Cinderella’s Castle has recently unveiled its new and beautiful addition.
Cinderella’s Castle celebrates 50th anniversary
As the world starts opening up in the wake of the pandemic, it turns out this is the perfect time, as Walt Disney World Resort is celebrating its 50th anniversary. All kinds of added attractions are popping up all over the park, just waiting for guests to view them. Naturally, this includes the park’s iconic main attraction, as Cinderella’s Castle also gets an upgrade.
Walt Disney World Resort President Jeff Vahle on Saturday made a post to Instagram to reveal the latest addition to the main attraction. He wanted to show off the attraction’s new, golden, 50th-anniversary crest, but also to share some thoughts on this improvement.
In his caption, Vahle wrote, “Just when you thought our castle couldn’t get any more stunning … Check out the golden 50th crest that was added last night! I happened to be in Magic Kingdom this morning and couldn’t resist getting a photo of it with some of our Cast Members.”
Walt Disney World going all out for its 50th anniversary
The new golden 50th crest on Cinderella’s Castle has been beautifully designed to blend in with the attraction’s traditional aesthetic and is a nice addition indeed. Meanwhile, this major milestone anniversary has been Disney’s top priority since the park reopened in 2021.
Naturally, the addition at Cinderella’s Castle isn’t the only sign of the park’s 50th celebration. Later this year, fans will get a look behind the scenes of the attraction when the new Disney+ docuseries, Behind the Attraction, resumes later this year.
While Vahle’s post is celebrating the park’s milestone anniversary, it does also signal bigger things to come for Walt Disney World guests. Obviously, since the Disney theme parks reopened, they are still battling the effects of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. However, the addition to the décor at the Magic Kingdom does mark a return to some kind of normalcy.
Fans recently got to enjoy the return of the fireworks show to Walt Disney World, which had been missing since the start of the pandemic. Also, while there have been a couple of hiccups along the way relating to Magic Kingdom rides, everything does seem to be going well at the theme park.
Recently, guest capacity at the park has been increased, and reservations have become more relaxed. This means that more guests will get to see the new feature. It just has to be hoped that the resurgence of COVID-19 will not interfere with Disney fans and their celebration of the park’s 50th anniversary.
