It’s only October, but it’s time to start getting excited about the holidays after Walt Disney World Resort officials made an announcement. They released details of the 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, presented by AdventHealth. The details include new traditions, entertainment and food and drinks. EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays 2023
The first news relates to the popular EPCOT Candlelight Processional, which returns in 2023. Moreover, there will be new celebrity narrators telling the story of Christmas. Meanwhile, a huge choir and 50-piece orchestra will set the scene.

Should readers wish to book their spot to watch the Candlelight Processional, bookings open on October 17. On top of this, guests will be able to choose from seven eateries, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Pricing and availability can be seen on Disney World’s website here.
Santa Claus at EPCOT’s Odyssey Pavilion
Meanwhile, the much-loved Santa Claus will be available for photo opportunities, as well as last-minute Christmas lists, from November 24 through December 24.
Moreover, the World Showcase area will come to life with magical legends and lore, with storytellers regaling the audience with details of how the winter holidays are celebrated around the world.
On top of this, guests can enjoy Gospel and R&B songs centered on Christmas and Kwanzaa at the Season in World Showcase Plaza. There is also the opportunity to take a festive boat tour through the Living with the Land in World Nature.
For the children, they can enjoy Olaf and his Holiday Traditions Expedition Scavenger Hunt which allows them to look for the “tradition” in each pavilion to earn a special festival holiday keepsake.
For a fun experience, visit the Norway pavilion where a mischievous Barn Santa makes a worthy appearance. Moreover, watch the Chinese Lion Dancer celebrating the Lunar New Year, or head off on a fascinating journey to find out more about Hanukkah festivities around the world.
Opportunities for foodies
Disney has announced that there will be more than 15, great holiday kitchens serving up during the International Festival of the Holidays. These will include favorites like slow-roasted turkey with stuffing, with mashed potatoes, green beans and cranberry sauce.
Don’t forget the delicious Holiday Cookie Stroll, where you can purchase five cookies from any of the official Cookie Stroll locations. You can then collect the matching stamp for each cookie to add to your festival passport.
