Family Cruise Tips: What to Pack For Your ChildHeading on a cruise can be an absolutely wonderful way to see the world and enjoy some quality time with your loved ones. Robyn Ava, Ella, Rose and I are headed to another Disney Cruise in March.  This will be our third family cruise so we have learned a lot!

After several cruises both Robyn and I know that when you happen to be traveling with kids, you really do need to make sure that you have everything you need. If you don’t plan ahead, you could easily find that you run into some problems around the way. So, what on earth should you do?

Well, the first step is making sure that you have everything you need for your little ones. Here are some of the things we have learned over the years that you must never, ever forget to pack. Make sure that you take them with you on your next cruise vacation.

First aid kit

Of course, you want to make sure that your little ones are as safe as they can be at all times. Still, there’s no denying the fact that accidents do happen now and then. You need to make sure that you’re prepared for just this issue. Be certain to pack a lightweight first aid kit. It could make all the difference.

Nightlight

Is your little one afraid of the dark? Don’t panic, you can actually get travel night lights that you can take on the cruise liner with you. Just plug it into the wall right away and you’ll have no problems.

Handheld fan

If you’re heading to a hot place, you need to absolutely make sure that you can keep cool. Kids can be particularly affected by the heat, and so this is crucial for them too. Having a handheld fan will mean that you have no issues whatsoever.

Books

Here are the cold, hard facts. Sometimes, your kids will get a tad bored on vacation. You want to make sure that you entertain them in the best possible way. Taking along some books with you will mean that they always have something to do.

Sneakers

When the cruise liner docks at a port, it’s time to get off and see what there is to explore there. That’s why you need to make sure that your little ones have footwear that is sturdy. Be sure to invest in some decent sneakers for them ahead of time.

Sickness tablets

Many, many kids out there are susceptible to seasickness. Of course, you hope that this is not an issue for your kids, but it may well be. Stocking up on some sickness tablets before your trip has to be one of the smartest moves ever.

Extra clothing!

Finally, there’s one thing that you have to remember. Kids are messy. It’s in their very nature to explore, spill things down themselves, and have accidents. You need to make sure that you have spare clothes for that very reason. Don’t forget to take extras of everything from shirts to shorts!
